Privacy Policy — Smart Resume Matcher

• Resume text (user‑pasted)
• Job description text (user‑pasted)
• Gemini API key (only if provided; encrypted via AES‑GCM)

2. How We Use Your Data

• To compute a match score and highlight missing skills using our open-source backend
• To generate optional suggestions via Google Gemini API, only if you supply your API key
• All matching logic occurs either on our backend or within the extension itself

3. Data Storage

• Stored locally in chrome.storage.local
• API key is encrypted before storage
• No behavioral tracking, browsing history, or identifying data is collected

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, share, or transfer user data to third parties. No analytics or tracking is performed.

5. Security Measures

• AES‑GCM encryption is used for the Gemini API key
• All outgoing requests are to trusted, specified hosts only
• No remote code is ever loaded or executed

6. Not Intended for Children

This extension is directed at adult users and does not target minors.
